The 49 Best Black Friday Deals Under $50 (2021): Cheap Stuff We Love

Nanoleaf Essentials aren’t the brightest LED bulbs out there, but we still like them, especially for this price. A 3-pack for $40 essentially gives you a free bulb—they’re usually $20 apiece, though currently on sale for $15. They made our list of the Best Smart Bulbs, thanks to their cool hexagonal design and wide array of color options.

Govee makes some of WIRED’s Favorite Smart Bulbs, and these bars are no exception. They take backlighting to new heights. The LEDs will react to onscreen visuals or music, pulsing, cycling, or executing another action of your choice from the wide array of presets. This price is one of the best WIRED has tracked. We don’t love the fact that there’s a camera built into the product with no physical privacy cover, though workarounds are possible. Read more in the in-depth review.

Target, Amazon, Best Buy (Blue/White Design)

Single-serve brewers like this aren’t for everyone, but they’re awfully convenient when you need a quick pick-me-up. I, Louryn, keep one on my desk. The small serving size and quick brewing are perfect for breaking out of an afternoon slump (or staying up late on Black Friday). It also has a tiny footprint, so it won’t take up too much space. This deal brings the coffee maker down lower than we’ve previously tracked.

While it is somewhat limited, and you need an Alexa-enabled device to set it up, this smart light offers a wide range of colors and modes, including fun options like Disco and Underwater. You can enable tap control to switch colors, and you can tweak everything and turn it off remotely from the Alexa app.

Self-Care Deals

Colgate Hum

Colgate ($49), Amazon

The Colgate Hum (9/10, WIRED Recommends) is the Best Electric Toothbrush for most people. It’s small, it’s cute, and it has an app that’ll help track dental hygiene habits. The app is optional, but it does dole out rewards that can be used for things like additional brush heads. This is the rechargeable version; the battery-powered version is also discounted (though it dropped to $20 for Prime Day).

Target, Amazon, Best Buy

Another one of our favorite electric toothbrushes, this lightweight brush is a good hybrid for more powerful brushing than a manual without too many bells, whistles, or teeth-chattering modes. The battery-operated version is also on sale for $15 ($10 off).

Kinship

Several WIRED staffers use this sunscreen every day. It provides a pearly glow without a white cast or too much shimmer, and it’s lightweight enough to layer seamlessly with other skincare products. The entire Kinship site is 20 percent off.

Headspace

Headspace typically costs $13 per month, but for Black Friday, it’s on sale for $5 a month. You can buy monthly memberships or get a year-long subscription for $35. It has guided meditations tailored to a variety of needs, from dealing with climate anxiety to getting better sleep. While meditation apps aren’t for everyone, we do have a guide on making the most of them.

Crave (Use PLEASUREME at Checkout)

This vibrator necklace is elegant and discreet enough to be worn as daily jewelry. Its vibrations are more buzzy than they are rumbly—think of it like a slender bullet. For more ideas, check out our roundup of the Best Sex Tech.

Fun Factory

Shopping for sex toys can be intimidating and overwhelming. There are so many options on the market, trying to find something basic and approachable is more difficult than one would expect. The Amor is a fantastic option for those seeking a no-frills, uncomplicated dildo.

Proof (Enter WIRED25 at Checkout)

Underwear that can keep your clothes protected during your period can be very handy, and Proof is one of our favorite brands, offering four absorbency levels. Use our special WIRED25 code for 25 percent off across the site.

SmartWool Liner Gloves

Backcountry, Steep and Cheap

Liner gloves add warmth to existing gloves or mittens, but these can also work on their own for chilly days. They’re thin and won’t cause loss of dexterity, so they can be especially nice for tasks like yard work or DIY vehicle maintenance in colder temperatures.

Backcountry

Every camp kitchen needs a pot like this. It holds just under a liter of fluid, so it’ll work for making coffee, heating up cans, or making a quick meal. The drip spout makes for easy pouring, and the lightweight design makes for easy carrying.

Men’s Version, Women’s Version

This shirt will be featured in an upcoming WIRED guide. It doesn’t look like a hiking shirt, but don’t let the design fool you. The moisture-wicking fabric, ventilated core, and flip-up sun collar are all intended to help regulate body temperature. There are plenty of color options and sizes to choose from.

Bokksu (Enter BF2021 at Checkout)

There are a lot of Japan-themed snack boxes on the market, but Bokksu’s is unusually specific. Each month centers on a different region, cuisine style, or cultural cornerstone. It’s a good way to expand your horizons if you’ve already tried a lot of Japanese snacks. Read more about it in our guide to the Best Snack Subscription Boxes.

This chili sauce goes well with everything, like eggs, pizza, ice cream, tuna salad, or regular salad. It’s just spicy enough to lend a kick without being overpowering. Fly by Jing was featured in our guide to the Best Gifts from BIPOC-Owned Businesses.
